What is the Christel House Open?

A

The Christel House Open is a unique international golf tournament designed to raise money for the children of Christel House. In its fourth year of operations, the 2006 event will feature:

• June 12, 2006 – Thirty (30) or more tournaments played at courses in countries on six continents.
• Unique same-day format, with competition beginning in Bangalore, India, followed by tournaments throughout the day.  Global competition will conclude in Oahu, Hawaii – a distance spanning twenty timze zones.

What are the proceeds from this event used for?

A

100% of proceeds from this event will be directed to the education and human development of Christel House children in six countries. The monies raised will contribute greatly to help impoverished children break the cycle of poverty and become self-sufficient, contributing members of their societies. Yes, Christel House is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity. Donations are
deductible to the extent allowed by law.

What courses are participating in the 2006 Christel House Open?

How many people participated in the Christel House Open?

A

For our inaugural tournament in 2003, over 1100 players participated at eighteen (18) sites around the world. In 2004, more than 2,000 participated at twenty (20) sites worldwide, with the winning teams from each qualifying for the first annual World Championship event. In 2005, more than 2,200 golfers competed in twenty four (24) Tier One tournaments.  The 2006 event will grow to thirty (30) Tier One tournaments and more than 3,000 participants worldwide.

What about the World Championship event?

A

In 2004 and 2005, the Christel House Open featured a World Championship “tier” event.  This event has been discontinued so that Christel House could focus on growing the June “Tier One” tournaments with more locations around the world and more participants.  The 2006 event is expected to increase the number of sites by 25% and will grow to a sixth continent – Australia.
